PRESS RELEASE – MAKE BELIEVE WARE HAS A ‘WICKED’ TIME
Make Believe Ware only opened it’s doors a year ago and have already been a huge hit amongst the children of Hertford and Ware.
On Saturday 10 February the school were very lucky to have West End Performer Fraser Fraser go along to teach a Wicked workshop.
Fraser Fraser graduated from SLP College in Leeds with a National Diploma in Musical Theatre. He then went on tour with West Side Story, playing the role of Baby John, around the UK and Ireland. Fraser’s next move was over to Germany, to be part of the company of Starlight Express. His last show brought him back to the UK to be part of Wicked in London.
Following the workshop, some of the children were then taken to London during half term to see the hit musical to help get inspiration for their upcoming show in July, Radio City.
The Ware branch is led by Principal Sally Foster who has a wealth of knowledge in the industry having trained at Italia Conti.
Founded by Joel Kern in 2004 Make Believe have schools in and around London, Australia and most recently Manchester, teaching youngsters the basic skills in the performing arts. Kern, who started Make Believe aged 15 by teaching five students to sing, dance and act, has seen the company grow into one of the most exciting performing arts companies with around 3500 children enjoying the after-school classes on a weekly basis. And with a raft of talent coming out of the Make Believe Talent Agency (including youngsters landing roles in West end Musicals, TV shows and adverts) the future is looking very bright for the Ilford-based producer who won the Federation of Small Business Young Entrepreneur of the year for South East England award.
The Ware branch runs on Saturday mornings 10am-1pm at St Mary’s C Of E Primary School, Heath Drive, SG12 0RL and teaches children aged 3-18 to sing, act and dance.
